What's on in Reading This Week

This week in Reading, you’ll find evening entertainment and social events geared towards after-work activities. If you’re looking for things to do, expect nights filled with music and opportunities to connect with others. Live performances range from established artists to electronic acts aiming to create an immersive experience. Check out venues like Sub89 or The Purple Turtle for regularly scheduled shows. Beyond the stage, there are organised social gatherings. These events are designed to help you meet new people or simply enjoy an evening out. Several pubs along King’s Road and in the town centre frequently host meet-ups and themed evenings. If you enjoy comedy, there’s also a performance scheduled this week, offering observations and stories for entertainment. You can find venues across town hosting these events, with options for both intimate gatherings and larger performances. Rivermead offers a larger capacity, while smaller bars around Forbury Gardens create a more intimate setting. Whether you prefer a musical journey, a lively social mixer, or an evening of laughter, the coming days offer a variety of choices. The town’s location near the River Kennet sometimes means waterside entertainment is available. This period offers several ways to engage with Reading’s social life as the evenings get longer. Review the listings below for specific times and locations, and note that the Elizabeth Line and Great Western line provide convenient transport. Be aware of potential congestion on the A4 London Road if driving, and parking may be limited near central venues.
